On Sunday, December 2nd the UC San Diego Women's Rugby team closed out their pre-season with a scrimmage against the Mexicali Rebels. UC San Diego was proud to welcome the young team as it was Mexicali's first international game. Upholding the rugby tradition of comradery, UC San Diego was proud to lend Mexicali a few players so that the scrimmage could be played with an even amount of players on each side.

While Mexicali won the coin toss, UC San Diego was eager to regain possession. After stealing the ball from Mexicali, UC San Diego continued to dominate throughout the game, scoring multiple tries and maintaining possession of the ball for the majority of the game. Overall, the game was a good learning and bonding experience for both teams. After the game Mexicali gave UC San Diego one of their shirts signed by each member of their team, as a token of their gratitude and to pay homage to the game.
