SCCVL Preseason Tournament

The SCCVL Preseason tournament had many firsts for the UCSD women's club volleyball teams. It was the debut of our second team, who with some supremely scrappy play defeated NAU and Arizona State to secure their first wins of what is going to be a great season. UCSD-Gold fell to a powerful SDSU team and CSU San Marcos, but not before showing that they're one of the best teams in the field. The UCSD-Blue team also had quite a few firsts including our first wins, and unfortunately our first loss, of the season. With the help of radical defense from Emma Choi, spicy sets from Rachael Robinson, and kills all around, the UCSD-Blue team came first in the pool, defeating Cal Poly Pomona, CSUN, and UCI, and landing them in the semifinals. After defeating a tough USF team, the lady Tritons faced a mighty SDSU team in the finals for the first of many cross-town showdowns with the Aztecs in the 2018-19 season. Despite valiant play and hustle, the Lady Tritons fell to the Aztecs (0-2) and claimed 2nd place in the tournament.
