Tritons Secure Themselves a Spot in Playoffs

Early Sunday morning UCSD took on the USC again, trying to secure another win against the Trojans. The game started out quick as Arshdeep Singh scored in the first 6 minutes to earn UCSD a 1-0 cushion. Samantha Brinton made a mark in the game earning a couple of short-corners for the tritons. Closing in the half, Alison Washburn was able to put away another goal giving UCSD a 2-0 lead against USC at halftime. The tritons came into the second half looking very strong as they transferred the ball from side-to-side and waited for the perfect opportunity to attack. Midfielders Gorjeite Sweidan and Pranavsai Iddamsetty were on top of their game making excellent passes to the Triton offense. Abi Lord was also able to control the ball in the attacking half as Arshdeep Singh scored another goal near the end of the second half, earning UCSD a comfortable 3-0 victory against USC. With this victory, UCSD secured itself a spot in the playoffs held in Cal Poly San Luis Obispo during the first weekend of December.
