UCSD vs LMU

The first match of the year against LMU was where the Tritons were going to see how their training turned out since the beginning of the year. After kickoff, the Tritons mounted off their defense and fought hard against LMU. The first quarter of the game had the Tritons score over LMU multiple times before LMU was able to put any points up on the board. The second quarter was entirely the Tritons’ as they did not let LMU put any points over them and they were ahead 22-7. During the third quarter, LMU stepped up their game and began to push back on the Triton offense. The Tritons kept up the offense and maintained their lead as they continued to hold the pace of the game to end the third quarter in the lead at 32-17. Fatigue set in during the fourth quarter and the Tritons had to keep up the defense. A tough quarter for the Tritons and they were able to hold off LMU until the last second where they dropped in another final score and conversion of the match. The first game ended with a Triton victory over LMU with the final score at 32-22. The Tritons are going to have a long tournament the next week. They need to learn from their experiences against LMU and apply it to the San Diego City Tournament hosted at home in UCSD.
