UCSD Gets Revenge on the Gauchos

Looking to avenge their loss in the last game against UCSB, the Tritons came in hard and strong as Alberto Montilla put away a goal in the beginning moments of the game. Elyse Noda had a lot of solid stops in the back as she was able to lock down UCSB’s offense and make sure the lead stayed intact. Nearing the end of the first half, Montilla was able to dribble the ball past the midfield and breakthrough UCSB’s defense once again, which brought the half to a close with UCSD leading 2-0 at halftime. UCSB started the second half strong as they tried to break through the Triton defense but were unsuccessful as Stephanie Pineda blocked many difficult shots that were taken on goal. Midway through the second half, Montilla once again was able to dribble past UCSB’s defense and put away his third goal. The game ended with a 3-0 victory for UCSD as Alberto Montilla earned himself a hat-trick for his second straight game.
