Tritons started the 1st period down 2-0 due to an unlucky bounce and a breakaway. UCSD rallied in the second half of the period with a powerplay goal from 5th year Shu Inamura and two goals from 3rd year Jason Wang, scoring his first of the season, ending the period up 3-2. Berkeley would regain the lead in the second scoring 4 goals, with the Tritons scoring only one ending the second period down 4-6. In the last ten minutes, Alex Tatotian would score one to bring the Tritons within 1 goal; however, Berkeley would seal the lead, scoring their 7th with only a minute and forty seconds left. Tatotian had a Wayne Gretzky type of night, filling the stat sheet with a goal and two assists. Tritons held with UC Berkeley throughout most of the game save for the second period, with strong defensive play in the first and third along with key saves from 4th year Isaac Laddon to keep the game within reach.
