UCSD won the toss and elected to bat first. Although the batters started well, UCSD kept losing wickets. Vishnu Babu Guturu (26 off 19) and Pramesh Singhavi (17 off 20) were the only batters who looked set. However, due to the lack of any partnerships, UCSD was reduced to 107/7 in 20 overs. The UCSD bowlers got off to a good start, picking an early wicket. However, some lapses in fielding and bowling allowed ASU to get back into the game. The only bowler who seemed in control was Parth Bhagwat (2.0-0-1-14). ASU ended up winning by 8 wickets.
