11/19/22- UC San Diego vs Sultans
UC San Diego won the toss and decided to bat first on the Kearney Mesa ground. Having known Kearney Mesa to be a low-scoring ground, UCSD approached their innings cautiously and scored 30 within the powerplay without losing any wickets. Excellent batting performances by the UCSD top-order allowed the team to reach a good total of 145 runs within their 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was Ishan Banerjee's 2nd Half-Century for UCSD, coming at a time most required for the team in this do-or-die game. In response, Sultans got off to a fast start, scoring 40 within the powerplay but losing 2 important wickets. Sultans continued to chip away at the target, but good middle-order bowling performances by Pramesh and Gautam got UCSD the wickets it needed to stay on top. In the end, UCSD won by 26 runs, bringing their Champions Trophy record to 2-2 after this penultimate game before the Qualifiers.
