    11/17/24 - Nairobi Classic 2024

This weekend your Tritons combined their B and C team and had fun at their last tournament of the quarter!

They made the short drive up to Costa Mesa in LA. The scores were:

    • 4-7 v UC Irvine
    • 6-7 v USC Y (went to universe!)
    • 2-10 v USC X
    • 6-9 v UCLA
    • 0-8 v San Diego State.

The team powered through five games back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back, always playing with high intensity and never slowing down. Julianna "Nymph" Lawscha was the team’s top player of the tournament, leading the team in Ds and scoring on two layout catches (they were crazy!). Other notable players included Annika "Gnocchi" Torres, who had some incredible grabs (sticky fingers!), and Liana “Rango” Kitchel, who played amazing defense and had some beautiful long throws to the endzone. A couple of other highlights of the day were multiple returning cutters handling for the first time (they crushed it), temporary tattoos, spirit circles after games, and Jigmey “Slayru” Partsang’s birthday!

The car rides and tournament were valuable time for returners and rookies from both teams to bond on and off the field. This one-day tournament was also a good opportunity for the team to practice the skills they learned throughout fall quarter, including the new horizontal stack offense they learned earlier in the week. B team (B-Co) and C team (C-Co) are excited to start their regular seasons in January, and they are looking forward to playing this Sunday’s opponents again! They are so proud of all their rookies for all the learning and work they’ve put in this quarter, and they are so excited to continue watching them grow!
