On Saturday, November 9, our Tritons had their first match of the 2024-2025 season against USD and Mira Costa! In a tantalizing and exciting match, we had our first team try in the first 15 minutes with Soph Trujillo making the final touch in the try zone! Outstanding plays were created by Mia Taylor as the vision on the field became clear and she led the team in a hat trick of three additional tries. Our forward’s captain, Lina Luedi, was holding down our defense and securing the rucks to ensure the safety of the ball as we advanced up the field. Sara Tsai rounded out the score with an amazing run up the side of the field to secure a Triton victory. Incredible kicking job by Nikole Kron for getting 2 conversion kicks to top off the score. A huge shout out to everyone’s first time playing in a rugby game and showing up and showing out! By the end of the heated battle on the field, our women’s rugby team walked off with a victory of 29-10.
