After waking up at 3:00 am and traveling all day, the Tritons lost their first game badly (13-1), although freshman goaltender Matthew Mahlow played stellar in net. On Saturday night, the Tritons bounced back with a much more even game, losing only 4-2 against EWU, but with much stronger play. The 3rd game was a rematch against WSU and resulted in a very close 5-3 loss thanks to a few more players that arrived Saturday and a good night's rest. Our final game of the weekend, on Monday, was an early morning game which UCSD dominated for the first 2 periods and when we lagged a little in the third, senior goaltender Isaac Laddon stood on his head and kept the door shut, leading the team to finish the weekend off with a 5-3 win.
