10/29/22- UC San Diego vs Masters vs Titans

    UC San Diego vs Masters

UCSD won the toss and elected to bowl first on Muir Field. With the loss of a couple of early wickets within the powerplay, Masters only managed to get to a score of 27 runs in the first six overs. After accelerating in the middle overs, Masters batsmen combated the fall of wickets and reached a decent score of 99 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. In response, UCSD batters got off to a flying start as the sun dried up the pitch. After getting a total of 42 runs within the powerplay at the cost of only two wickets, UCSD managed to chase down the target within the 18th over, securing a comfortable win in the Champions League Tournament.

    UC San Diego vs Titans

Titans won the toss and elected to bat first on Muir Field. For their second game, the Titans' batsmen looked to put the pressure on UCSD from the start. Titans managed to get to a score of 46 with the powerplay for the loss of only one wicket. UCSD countered with their spin attack and decreased the flow of runs while getting steady wickets, allowing Titans to get to a total of 95 runs for the loss of all their wickets, with two overs remaining. UCSD batsmen looked to build a steady inning and reached 24 runs within the powerplay. Despite the relatively low total, UCSD batsmen remained under pressure, and Titans bowlers continued to get wickets and stop the run flow. With 10 runs needed in the final over, UCSD fell only 3 runs short of chasing down the target. This ended the final game for the day, with Titans securing another victory to start the tournament.
