10/27/24 - UCSD Comes Out On Top Against Clairemont!
UCSD delivered a dominant performance in their weekend matchup against Clairemont, cruising to a resounding 14-0 victory. The Tritons wasted no time in asserting their control, scoring four goals in the opening four minutes of the game. By the end of the first quarter, they had already netted six goals, with contributions coming from a diverse group of players: Sanket Garg, Addy Rodriguez, Xabi Rubio Frances, Emma Brayton, Matilda Genevriere, and Hudson Gehrke. Their fast-paced offense continued into the second quarter, where they added three more goals from Darby Reif, Dillan Selitsch, and Luisa Ayala. The team’s fluid passing and relentless attack made it clear from the outset that Claremont had no answers for UCSD's offensive prowess.
The second half saw even more clinical finishing from the Tritons, with Genevriere scoring her second goal of the game in the third quarter. The fourth quarter was a display of depth and balance, as Brayton, Gehrke, Axel Yarahuaman Chamorro, and Katie Balen each found the back of the net, bringing the final tally to an impressive 14 goals. The match was a testament to UCSD's collective effort, as 11 of the 14 goals were scored by different players.
