With a gorgeous venue such as Mission Bay Yacht club, Saturday started off great with the winds filling in so we were able to start on time. We had two lines this weekend, our Varsity/Open line and our Frosh Soph line. Our Frosh soph line allows for new skippers and crews on teams to compete in a lower stress environment, but still get that important racing experience. Our amazing race committee pushed the races until the very end, completing a total of 7 races.
With the wind struggling a little on Sunday, we were only able to get about 3 races off the line. Still, it was a great opportunity for improving our sailing skills in the lighter wind with some friendly competition on the line. With the beautiful sun and warm water, people were jumping in the water left and right during postponement. Despite there being less wind on Sunday, the gorgeous conditions allowed all our sailors to have so much fun this weekend!
Thank you all to the amazing alumni and friends of the team that were able to make this regatta happen. We can’t wait to see everyone again in the winter for our Jeff Simon event!
