UC San Diego Ice Hockey hits the road and takes on the University of Utah for the first league games of the year. With a younger team and only a few practices UCSD Ice Hockey took on the University of Utah, a powerhouse with a multiple team program. The first game saw a slow start with Utah taking an early lead, but as the game went on, UCSD fought back. However it was not enough with the Utah team being able to out pressure our offense. The start of our second game saw a much better start, however with a couple unlucky bounces, Utah opened up the scoring where UCSD could not keep up.
After a long weekend, freshman goalie Michael Haskins faced over 125 shots letting in only 15 goals. Medical student Liam Fitzgerald and freshman Adrian Chavez each scored their first goal with UCSD Ice Hockey.
