10/19/24 - The 2024/2025 Season is off with a Bang!

The Tritons opened the year with the SDSU Invitational and got off to a great start! They started off hot, trampling UC Berkeley by a score of 7-3. Led by Shristi Bandyopdhyay and Tania Frank, they then handled Cal Poly A with a 6-4 victory. On Sunday they narrowly beat UCLA B 11-9 in a tight high scoring game highlighted by Elizabeth Hernandez’s 3 goals. They finished the weekend in a back and forth nailbiter against SDSU A, winning 12-11 in overtime. The goalies, Story Waxman and Brynna Moore, held their ground the whole weekend with 32 blocks total and a blocked penalty shot each, helping lead their teams to success.

The B team had more struggles, particularly against UCLA’s A and B teams. Their defensive ability shined through with 11 steals and 17 blocks, but their offense came up short as they lost both games. On the second day, the B team scored 6 goals from 5 different players but ultimately came up short once again. Their last game against SDSU B had a similar outcome. However, this tournament was the first of many for most of the B team, for whom experience and failure will only prepare them for future success.
