The Triton’s sent 4 pairs up to compete in Long Beach to open the year. The first team, Bauer and Levia, performed well but were dealt a tough hand going up against USC and UCLA who both have long established programs and a good beach volleyball pedigree. Hannah and Ella won 2 and lost 2, but their wins were both well earned as they fought through three sets for both matchups. Peyton and Lucia fought against tough opponents, but didn’t get much preparation for the tournament since they were subbed in for a different pair who couldn’t make it. The last team, Seini and Leslieli, played in the open (highest) division where they won a close match against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. This was a successful and competitive first tournament for the program which will serve as a good foundation for building up to their next tournament.
