10/16/22- USC vs UC San Diego
USC won the toss and elected to bat first on El Monte 2 Field. With the loss of an early wicket in the first over, UCSD managed to contain USC to only 32 runs within the powerplay. Despite good bowling performances by Karan and Pramesh, USC batters accelerated throughout their innings with several wickets remaining and got to a good total of 178 runs in their 20 overs. In response, UCSD batters got off to a good start, scoring 50 runs in the powerplay but at the cost of 3 wickets. Even though UCSD managed to chip away at the target at a good run rate, the continuous loss of wickets added pressure on the UCSD batters and left them all out at the score of 167, giving USC a close 11-run victory. UCSD placed 2nd in the SoCal Shield tournament, securing their spot in Regionals.
