1/20/24 - UCSD Gymnastics Opens Season with Skills Exhibition
To gear up for this upcoming competition season, the UCSD Gymnastics Team hosted their intrasquad this past weekend. The event was partnered with the Toby Wells YMCA, where the club's off-campus practices are held. The exhibition of routines was an opportunity for team members to showcase their routines and skills in front of others to prepare and gain confidence for the upcoming season. There was quite a turnout as some team members performed while others came out to show their support and encouragement. The atmosphere of the gym was inspiring, encouraging, and enthusiastic while also having excellent gymnastics! The turnout was the biggest the team has had this far, and the team looks to be in great shape for the fast and upcoming competition season!
All of the ten events were represented at the intrasquad across all men’s and women’s gymnastics. The routines that were showcased on these events were strong and looking competition-ready! Not only were skills and routines shown, but several upgrades and new routines were showcased including men's floor by Tessa Gluckman, uneven bars by Sarah Mackey, and rings by Zach Weiner. In addition to new upgrades, several members performed their first-ever routines for UCSD Club gymnastics including Matthew Kozubov, Luya Wei, Roxanne Mayali, Alyssa and Morgan Ayan, Lauren Yerger, Malia Lewton, and Ari Pasha.
The team is so proud of all of its members and the routines that were showcased!
