Unlike the night before, the first period remained scoreless, though the ice would be broken early in the 2nd by WWU. The second period would end 1-0 for WWU. Throughout the third, WWU would capitalize on the powerplay and score 3 powerplay goals, which would eventually put the game out of reach since the Tritons did not have enough time to score 4. The Tritons would dominate offensively with having the lion's share of sustained offensive zone time and many high danger chances, but ultimately were unable to convert that pressure into goals. Freshman Matthew Mahlow would keep the game close, playing stellar in net in spite of the final score of 0-4.
