    1/10-11/25 - Games vs SJSU

Tritons started off strong in the first period with aggressive forechecking and attacking, outshooting SJSU 13 to 5. Senior Sohrab Shamloo scored a natural hattrick in the first period (two of which were assisted by sophomore Alex Nakashima) to put the Tritons up 3-0 at the end of the first. The second period we outshot SJSU 13-6, however each team scored only one goal each, with freshman Sean Miller scoring the only UC San Diego goal of the period assisted by a fellow freshman Luca Tartaglia. The second period ended 4-1. In the third period, SJSU and UC San Diego traded 3 goals, with Masters student Andrew Chua scoring early in the 3rd to push the lead to 5-1, assisted by Sean Miller, which would be quickly followed by a powerplay goal by Senior Nicholas Goutzioulis off an assist from Luca to extend the lead to 6-1. SJSU would strike back to make it 6-2, and, with several penalties handed out to each team throughout the middle and end of the period, would score another 2 more goals to make the lead 6-4 by the last 3 minutes. 3rd year transfer Alex Tatotian would seal the game for the Tritons with an empty net goal with 2 minutes left to make the game 7-4. Freshman goaltender Matthew Mahlow played extremely well, coming up big when needed.

In their loss against SJSU, Tritons were missing several key players at the beginning of the game resulting in a very slow start. SJSU would score 4 unanswered goals in the first, while the Tritons would struggle to maintain offensive zone possession, ending the period 4-0. The second period started off equally badly, with SJSU scoring in the first 2 minutes, however the Tritons would respond, with a breakaway goal by senior Reece Wissmueller with a feed from freshman Sean Miller, however, SJSU would continue to dominate an exhausted and shortbenched UC San Diego team, scoring another 3 to make the score 8-1 by the end of the second. The Tritons would make a determined effort to finish strong, with Reece scoring a powerplay goal off Alex Tatotian and Sean Miller in the middle of the period. SJSU would score another 2 before the last minute, however freshman Ken Rolnick would score a goal in the last 30 seconds off senior Nicholas Goutzioulis and sophomore Logan Defrietas to make the score 10-3.
