During the past weekend, UCSD badminton went to UCLA to play against UCI, CSUN, UCSB, and CPSLO. The UCSD badminton team lost 5-10 against UCI, won 13-2 against CSUN, won 14-1 against UCSB, and won 15-0 against SLO.

Freshman Edwards Tong and Sophomore Jessica Qu engaged in several tightly contested matches. They beat UCSB's Michelle Hu and Thomas Yu with scores of 21-12, 16-21, 21-10. They also won against SLO's Justin Teng and Chenyi Zhao, winning 21-16, 15-21, 21-12, and they defeated CSUN's Akshay Kukanur and Trang Le with scores of 18-21, 21-12, 21-9. Junior Reno Guo also experienced a series of challenging games in the league match. He beat Brandon Xu from SLO with scores of 10-21, 21-19, 21-17, Kenny Luu from UCI 21-17, 21-17, and Jerry Wang from UCSB with scores of 21-10, 18-21, 21-16. Together with freshman Matthew Chan, Guo won against UCI's Tyler Lee and Kyle Pan, with scores of 21-19, 21-23, 21-13.
