Archery

Students are taught safety, basic archery skills and the fundamental mechanics of the National Training System in a friendly and non-competitive environment. All equipment is provided. Open to kids ages 8-17.

Badminton

Learn technique, strategy, rules and enjoy lots of playing in this Family oriented class. Cost is per person. Bring your own racquet. For ages 7 through adult. We welcome family participation.

Dance

Classes available in ballet, creative dance and tap dance. The Rec Class youth dance program offers great instruction in a fun environment for kids ages 3-12. Check for the age minimums for individual classes.

Diving

Learn the basics of diving from a springboard with and the 3-step approach along with the pike, tuck, and back dives. Have lots of fun while learning body control.

Fencing

Learn the basic elements and core skills through fun games, drills  and activities . The Rec Class youth fencing program offers beginning level classes to the more advanced combative level where electrical scoring and competitive fencing are introduced. All equipment is provided. For kids ages 7-17.d.

Fine Arts & DIY

These classes are designed to help kids find their creative voice through classes such as: watercolor, drawing, writing, sewing and more. These classes are mainly offered in the summer quarter.

Group Swimming Lessons

Swim lessons are held in our heated indoor pool! Instructors are either WSI certified or have equivalent experience. They are selected for their effectiveness in teaching children. Classes also include instruction in water safety.

Gymnastics

Our gymnastics classes are offered in a fun yet structured environment and are a wonderful developmental tool emphasizing strength, balance, coordination and flexibility! We offer recreational gymnastics classes for students of all ages and levels. Sign up early, these classes fill especially fast.

Interested in renting out the gymnastics gym for your child’s birthday party? Our birthday parties are one to two hours in length and occur in the Gymnastics South Balcony, with a focus on gymnastics games and skills. No prior gymnastics experience required!

Martial Arts

Increase your child’s flexibility, strength and balance in these classes that range from the beginning steps of general martial arts to more specified and skills-based exercises. All classes are non-contact and can start for children as early as 4 years old.

Stroke Clinics

Interested in focusing on more advanced swimming technique? These 4 week clinics focus on technique and turns for each of the competitive strokes. You can sign up for one clinic or both. Great for kids who want to swim competitively!

MUST have passed Level 5 swim class OR be able to swim 100 yards freestyle, 50 yards backstroke and breaststroke and 10 yards butterfly.

Swim Lessons

Lessons concentrate on all levels of swimming, starting at 18mos. with Parent ‘n Tot class all the way through Level 7 competitive level stroke production. All lessons are held in our heated pool with instructors experienced and effective in teaching children. Classes also include instruction in water safety.

Tennis

Youth Rec Tennis classes are designed for fitness, fundamentals and fun. The Intro to Tennis Fun is for kids ages 6-8, Beginning is for ages 8-11 and Adv. Beginning is for ages 11 and up. You must bring your own tennis racquet.

Water Polo

This class will introduce the concepts of the game and work on the basic skills required to play it successfully. Students enrolling in this class MUST be able to swim 75 yards of freestyle and tread water for 3 minutes. These skills will be tested at the first lesson. Ages 8 years and older.

Youth Swim Team

If your child is interested in swimming beyond level 6 or 7 check out our competitive swim team. The Swim San Diego program provides progressive development through a series of age group and ability/commitment levels. At each successive level more complex stroke technique drills and advance theory are introduced, and more practice time and endurance/dry-land work is required.
