Pre-Op Outdoor Experience MSI Incoming Students
Wilderness Orientation Office (858) 534-8211 | wo@ucsd.edu
Start your new life here at UC San Diego off with an awesome camping trip with your fellow medical students.
This trip is a chance to get to know your new community while having fun in the outdoors. You will learn inside information about life at med school, camp out under the stars, share campfire stories, go on hikes, play games, and make new friends.
The trip is just $145 for incoming med students. Students will have the opportunity to experience our on-campus challenge course, then spend the weekend camping and hiking at Laguna Mountain. The trip includes almost everything; transportation, entrance fee to all parks, food, and all group equipment including stoves, cooking gear, etc. You just need to bring your clothes and a sleeping bag (or rent one cheaply from our outdoor gear rental shop). The trip is run by UC San Diego Recreation-Outback Adventures guides and the School Of Medicine’s second year students.
“This is probably the best thing I could have done to prepare myself for school. It was awesome to surround myself with great people especially when I was going through such a big transition.” – Current SOM student
