The Sports Clubs program kicked off the year with so many success stories. Fall quarter saw teams perform the best in program history, travel to China, bring home a 3-peat, dominate at the Dodgeball Extravaganza, and more…
The Men’s Club Water Polo team attended the Collegiate Water Polo Association Nationals in Pittsburgh, PA on November 15-17, 2019. Even after losing some key individuals to injury, they still brought home the bronze, their best finish in program history! Their president, Jack Harper, shared that they are already prepping for and determined to defeat Lindenwood in 2020 for the national title.
A couple of weekends ago, and to wrap up their season, the Field Hockey team went to San Luis Obispo to defend their Western Collegiate Field Hockey Conference title. In a close match with UCSB (scoreless for the majority of the game), a penalty gave way for a critical corner shot opportunity that put UC San Diego up 1-0. This single goal lead to their victory as well as a hard earned championship for the 3rd year in a row!
Congratulations to all our teams and we look forward to an exciting winter 2020! For more information and to follow specific team, check out their schedules athttps://recreation.ucsd.edu/competitive-sports/sports-clubs/.
