Canyonview Aquatic Center
The Canyonview Aquatic Center is located on Voight Drive across from the central campus trolley stop. The aquatic center features two outdoor, Olympic-sized pools, each of which can be divided into eight lanes of 50 meters in length, or 19 lanes of 25 yards in length. Canyonview is the home of the UC San Diego’s men’s and women’s water polo teams and the men’s and women’s swim team in addition to the Recreation Master’s Swimming Program.
Ronald “Sickie” Marcikic Pool
The East side of the complex is the original pool and named after Recreation’s reputable Masters Swim Director
Features:
- Water temperature ranges from 80–85 degrees
- 20 lanes @ 25 yards in length; 7-foot wide lanes.
- Lanes 1-4 are the Dive Well at 15-feet deep.
- (4) Diving boards = (2) 1-meter spring boards & (2) 3-meter diving platforms.
- Lanes 19-20 are the family swim lanes at 3-feet deep
- Men's and women's locker rooms and showers
- North sun lounge deck
- Spa (maximum capacity of 12) in outdoor patio area
- Weight Room
Triton Pool
The West side of the complex is the newer pool opened in 2006 and home to the aquatic team competitions.
Features:
- Water temperature ranges from 80–85 degrees
- 50 meters by 25 yards
- The pool is seven feet deep throughout
- It holds 680,000 gallons of water
- There is bleacher seating for 1,000
- Lights on the deck accommodate night use
- Men's and women's locker rooms and showers
- Weight Room
