If you thought that there was no badminton in college, you heard wrong! The UCSD Badminton Team is one of the most popular sports on campus, with a record membership of 100+ students. In fact, we have our own league, sponsored team uniforms, social events such as a ski trip, a Seattle trip, tournaments, and more! We play in the Southern California Collegiate Badminton League, which includes UCLA, UCI, UCR, USC, UCSB, Cal Poly SLO, and others. We are very excited for the new year and welcome all of you to be a part of it. We practice twice a week on Wednesdays from 8-11pm in Main Gym and 7-11pm in Rec Gym and Sundays from 7-11pm in both Main Gym and Rec Gym. In addition, we have open gyms throughout the week with times posted on the UCSD Rec website. Come check out this friendly environment if you've had previous experience or have none at all. Come to play competitively or recreationally! If you have any questions, feel free to contact our UCSD Badminton team captains. 4/27/24 - Tritons Travel to UCLA to take on UCI, CSUN, UCSB, and SLO

During the past weekend, UCSD badminton went to UCLA to play against UCI, CSUN, UCSB, and CPSLO. The UCSD badminton team lost 5-10 against UCI, won 13-2 against CSUN, won 14-1 against UCSB, and won 15-0 against SLO. Read More>>

2/24/24 - UCSD Hosts CSUF and USC in League Play

1/9/24 - Friendly Match between UCSD and Berkeley

To kick off the beginning of the year, UCSD organizes a meetup with UC Berkeley, marking the largest team match featuring 32 matches between the two schools. UCSD wins Berkeley with a close score of 17-15. Read More>>

Over the Memorial Day weekend, UC San Diego Badminton hosted the 2019 Yonex Sun God Tournament, an annual tradition that welcomes over 250 participants from all skill levels to compete. UCSD Gives Their All in Their Last League Match of the Season

In their last league meet of the season, three universities traveled to UC San Diego’s main gym for a final round of competition: UC Irvine (UCI), San Diego State University (SDSU), and University of Southern California (USC). These schools brought out their finest to demonstrate that, despite the toll the quarter had taken on them, they were still eager to compete and prove that they were ready to finish strong. With the 2018 Preseason Tournament, the UC San Diego (UCSD) Badminton Team starts off the new competitive year with very successful results.
