This weekend the UCSD Equestrian Team hosted the last IHSA show of the fall quarter. We competed against 8 schools, including University of California Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Cal State Fullerton, University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Claremont Colleges, Cal Poly Pomona, and Chapman University. It was a long weekend full of lots of organization and running around on our team’s part, but we pulled it all off and managed to have a well organized and super fun show! On Saturday, our rider Georgia Ruybal placed 5th in limit fences. Isabella Anderson placed 3rd in limit flat, and Haley Schlerf was reserve. Thahn Bui placed 5th in pre-novice and Athena Allen was reserve. On Sunday, Isabella Anderson placed 4th in limit flat, and Haley Schlerf was reserve. In pre-novice, Ginevra Caswell placed 6th and Delia Bothe was reserve. We also had a great time taking care of our team horses, Jed (the og superstar), Oliver, Nobu, Charlie, and Maurice. We are so happy with how this show went and so proud of all of our riders! Even though the team’s competitions for fall just came to a close, the team is already gearing up for the upcoming first tournament in Arizona on Feb 1-2.
