The tritons opened their fall pre-season taking on the Division 1AA league champions. It was a hard fought battle from the start. It started off with Long Beach coming in hot scoring two trys (5 points) with missing both conversions (2 points). The score rocketed to 10-0 right away in favor of Long Beach.

However, the tritons did not let them hold that lead and they came back swinging. The forwards punched in their first try of the game which lead them to get into pattern and score two more times before the end of the half. Leaving the score to be 15-10 tritons.

As the second half started, the tritons kicked off and successfully recovered the ball. Then it was a fight to hold possession of the ball. With staying in the pattern the tritons successfully scored again. The tritons were able to hold long beach for a long time, but within the last few minutes, Long Beach snuck in two more trys bringing the score to 22-20. The score stayed at 22-20 till the end. Tritons took the win.
