This weekend the Air Squids A-team competed in the Santa Barbara Invitational, their first sanctioned tournament of the year hosted by UC Santa Barbara. The team came in seeded 15th out of the 20 teams attending and fought to break seed. They had a slow start to the tournament but battled back in their second game in which they lost 12-11 against UCLA. The Air Squids continued on, winning their next game against Case Western Reserve in dominant fashion before falling short in their game against BYU. The Squids finished pool play 1-3 and moved on to the bracket on Sunday morning. Again the Air Squids had a slow start losing their first game against Colorado State in pre-quarters but finished the day strong with two great wins against Stanford and Santa Clara. The Squids finished the tournament in 9th overall, breaking seed and hungry for their next opportunity to compete.
