Back to Back Games Result in Back to Back Wins

Following their win to Cal Poly the previous night, UCSD faced off against USC in their first league game held at home. For the first time in the team's history, UCSD played without a goalie and instead utilized an extra field player in the defense. Never the less, the match began with a quick goal scored against USC as the offensive mindset of UCSD drove the ball up the field towards the forwards. Sarah Martin scored a majority of the goals as her determination ensured the ball would cross the goal line once it appeared in the USC's defensive half. Samantha Brinton and Alberto Montilla's fast ball movement allowed a majority of the possession to remain with UCSD; these two players also ensured a win by scoring in their respective positions of outside wing and midfield. The final score was 11-3, UCSD, as USC was able to break the home team's defense and take advantage of an open goal. This did not deter the Tritons who held their own and secured their second win of the season.
