9/28/25 – San Diego International Dragon Boat Race

The San Diego International Dragon Boat Race marked a strong start to the season. Hosted by the San Diego Dragon Boat Team at Mission Bay, the event brought together athletes who spent Saturday and part of Sunday volunteering before competing in the College Division against UC Irvine Elements Dragon Boat. The division consisted of three heats, with cumulative times determining final placements. Although the first race included a few mishaps as paddlers returned to the water for the first time since the end of the school year, the following heats showed significant improvement. The second and third races became a tight battle for gold, with the team delivering an impressive performance. After the times were totaled, the crew secured a close second place. The race served as a strong early benchmark for the season, offering valuable experience for both veterans and rookies. With renewed confidence and a solid team rhythm, the group is well-positioned to continue building momentum in the months ahead.
