3/7/26 - UCSD Bests USD at Home in Conference Opener
The Tritons bested cross town rival and conference opponent USD in their first conference matchup of the year. The USD Toreros entered ranked 18th nationally, their best ranking in recent years. The Tritons entered only a few spots above, at 12th in the nation. Freshman attackman Sam Janik had a team high 3 goals and first career conference hat-trick. Junior midfielder Thomas Kenyon returned after missing 3 games due to injury and added 2 goals of his own, including the games first goal on the Triton's opening possession. UCSD held off a late comeback attempt in the fourth quarter to win the game 8-7 in an important conference victory, helping solidify their national ranking as they enter the grueling second half of their season.
