The Tritons never trailed in their home opener against Chico State where they cruised to a 12-5 victory in a Saturday midday matchup. Junior attackman Jackson Edwards led the way with 4 goals and 2 assists while freshman goalie Cameron Momsen made his first start, filling in for an ill Kian Gulbrandsen. Momsen proved he was up to the challenge, saving well over 50% of Chico St's attempts. UCSD ended the game by rotating in some new faces, getting young players valuable game experience as they look ahead to next weekend.
