11/8/25 - CCS Western Regionals
The Tritons had an absolute blast travelling to Mission Viejo to swim at the CCS Western Regional Championships where they competed against over 30 schools from across the Western Region. The Women’s team finished 4th with a total of 500 points, and the Men’s team finished 3rd with a total of 560 points, leading UCSD to place 4th overall out of 35 schools, scoring a total of 1060 points. Three new team records were set at the meet by Felix Medina in the 200 butterfly (1:51.74) and 400 individual medley (4:15.32) as well as Shreya Kashyap in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.94).
The meet saw lots of fast racing with many swimmers competing in finals and even more achieving new Nationals cuts! The Tritons had two 1st place finishes by Felix Medina in the 200 butterfly and Scott Szyper in the 500 freestyle; three 2nd place finishes by Morgan Rummelhoff in the 50 freestyle, Ryan Henry in the 50 butterfly, and Erin Swift in the 100 backstroke; and four 3rd place finishes by Felix Medina in the 400 individual medley, the A team (Erin Swift, Shreya Kashyap, Ryan Henry, Katelin Kwan) in the 200 medley relay, the A team (Katherine Wu, Erin Swift, Katelin Kwan, Sonia Khan) in the 200 freestyle relay, and the A team (Erin Swift, Shreya Kashyap, Ryan Henry, Sonia Khan) in the 400 medley relay.
