    11/14/25 - Last League Game of 2025

The UCSD Ice Hockey Team entered their Friday night matchup against the USC Trojans with a full roster, the photography crew, and coaching staff all present and ready for what was hopefully going to be the first league win. As has been common lately, UCSD's captain, Sean Miller (#16), struck first, scoring the only goal of the first period unassisted and shorthanded. Then, the second period saw head-to-head action as the Tritons and Trojans alternated goals. Despite Alex Tatoian's (#28) goal assisted by Sean Miller (#16) and Jackson Marlais's (#3) (his first of the year), assisted by Jonny Adrian (#21) and Ken Rolnick (#56), it was not enough to counter the five goals that USC was able to put up in the same period—most of the third period remained scoreless as the Tritons tried to battle their way back, even scoring the first of the period with a goal by Luca Tartaglia (#27) assisted by Saku Sekiguchi (#20), another shorthanded.

Some positives were that this was the second consecutive close league game, representing the Tritons' improvement and resilience as the season progresses. Additionally, the Tritons kept to four penalties in the game and successfully killed every one. With another game on the same weekend, the UCSD Ice Hockey Team looks to build on these positives and secure a win against UCLA.
