UCSD lost the toss and was put in to bat. The opening batsman provided a flying start, and the momentum continued throughout the innings as each subsequent batter maintained an aggressive approach, putting consistent pressure on the opposition bowlers. This collective effort propelled the team to a mammoth total of 239 runs in just 20 overs.
In the second innings, UCSD’s bowlers initially faced heavy pressure as UCLA began strongly. However, the team responded effectively, securing crucial breakthroughs and ultimately guiding UCSD to a hard-fought victory. Despite challenging conditions that made bowling and fielding difficult, the UCSD cricket team displayed impressive resilience to secure the win.
From the batting lineup, special recognition goes to captain Raunak Saluja, who struck a quickfire 55 runs from 25 balls, and his opening partner Pramesh Singhavi, who top-scored with 64 runs off 28 balls. Ritvik Mohindru also delivered a sensational performance, adding 61 runs from 33 balls.
In the bowling department, Anirudh Rajesh (4.0-0-32-1) stood out with an excellent spell given the conditions. Once again, Pramesh Singhavi (4.0-0-44-3) contributed significantly by taking 3 vital wickets, while Gautam Ganesh (4.0-0-12-2) also impressed by claiming 2 wickets.
