10/4–5/25 – UCSD Tournament
This tournament was a strong showing for UCSD, with the A team finishing undefeated and the B team holding their own against two of the top teams in the league. The A team’s opening match against SDSU began slowly, ending the first quarter with a 4–2 lead. Once early nerves settled, the team pulled ahead decisively. By halftime, the score had widened to 8–3, and UCSD prevented SDSU from scoring for the remainder of the game—an especially impressive feat given SDSU’s standing as one of the league’s strongest contenders. The remaining A-team matches were against B teams and resulted in comfortable wins.
The B team also delivered a strong performance, securing blowout victories in its first two games. Competition intensified on the second day, but the squad kept close, competitive matches against both ASU A and SDSU A. Conditioning proved to be the main barrier, yet the team’s tactical execution and effort were widely praised. With continued training, the B team is projected to be a top contender at regionals once again. Their resilience throughout the tournament highlighted promising depth within the program.
