10/23/25 - UCSD vs. SDSU Scrimmage

UCSD took on SDSU in an intense scrimmage that showcased strong competition from both sides. SDSU came out fast and aggressive, challenging UCSD early with quick transitions and solid ball movement. Despite the pressure, UCSD responded well, maintaining composure and finding their rhythm as possession shifted evenly between the two teams throughout the first half.

In the second quarter, UCSD capitalized on a key opportunity when Ally Welke found space in the circle and scored, giving the Tritons a 1–0 lead. The goal energized the team and set the tone for the rest of the match. UCSD’s midfield worked cohesively to connect plays and keep control, while the forwards continued creating offensive chances that kept SDSU’s defense on their toes.

The second half was marked by strong defensive play from UCSD, as the backline and goalie held firm under consistent pressure. The forwards and midfielders worked hard to keep the ball in SDSU’s circle, limiting their ability to counterattack. Through disciplined defense and persistent teamwork, UCSD maintained their narrow lead and closed out the game with a 1–0 victory.
