10/19/25- UCSD Dominates Claremont 5–1 in Home Game Victory

UCSD field hockey delivered a commanding 5–1 win over Claremont in their home game, showcasing strong teamwork, clean passing, and consistent offensive pressure throughout all four quarters. The team looked confident from the start, controlling possession and creating opportunities across the field. With crisp communication and coordinated plays, UCSD built momentum early and never let up.

In the first quarter, Matilda opened the scoring for UCSD off a smooth assist from Emily Landers, setting the tone for the match. James followed up in the second quarter with an unassisted goal, weaving through defenders to double the lead before halftime. The team’s offense continued to thrive in the third quarter—Autumn scored off a setup from Lizzie, and shortly after, Gourka connected a perfect pass to James for his second goal of the game.

In the final quarter, Lizzie added another assist, helping James finish his third goal contribution of the day, sealing the 5–1 victory. James and Lizzie each tallied two goals, with Matilda adding one, reflecting UCSD’s strong balance between playmaking and finishing. The defense held firm against Claremont’s few scoring chances, allowing only one goal. It was a confident and cohesive team performance that highlighted UCSD’s depth, chemistry, and growing dominance this season.
