10/18/25 - Stoney Burke: The drive was worth it!
On Friday, 9 of the Tritons’ sailors braved the long drive up to SF to compete in the Stoney Burke regatta hosted by UC Berkeley. Even though one car got in at 1am, everyone was up and ready to sail early Saturday morning, and the beautiful venue was enough to make it worth the trip.
As for the sailing, the team was super impressed with how everyone did. In particular, the boat with Tom and JP, a brand new pairing, had mostly top 10 finishes, scoring at best a 4th place in one of the races. Other than that, all boats sailed well. Tom is from the bay so was able to host all the sailors at his house, which meant cozy beds and home cooked breakfast both mornings, which seemed to have helped a lot!
This regatta has the Tritons optimistic – other than being super fun, it really showcased some excellent sailing from the team, and is (hopefully) a sign of more growth to come!
