10/07/25 - Strong 3-3 Start for UCSD Field Hockey in First Scrimmage Against SDFHA

Our field hockey team faced SDFHA in our first scrimmage of the season, ending in a hard-fought 3–3 tie. This game marked an exciting start to the season, giving the team a valuable opportunity to build chemistry and test our new lineup against strong competition. Despite some early nerves, the team quickly found its rhythm, showing impressive communication and hustle across the field.

With many new players joining this year, the scrimmage served as an excellent introduction to game play and teamwork. The newcomers stepped up with confidence, demonstrating great effort, awareness, and adaptability in every position. Their energy helped the team maintain momentum throughout the match, and several key plays and defensive stops showcased their growing skill and understanding of the game.

Overall, the 3–3 result reflected a balanced and competitive performance from both sides. Our team displayed strong potential, especially considering it was our first time playing together in a real game setting. The scrimmage highlighted areas to improve, but more importantly, it revealed the talent and determination within this new group. With continued practice and teamwork, this season looks promising for the entire squad.
