1/13/26 - UCSD & Berkeley Swim/Run
Another successful year of the annual swim/run/swim/run with Berkeley took place at Canyonview during their yearly San Diego training camp. This long-standing tradition serves as both a friendly competition and a chance for the two programs to connect and push one another early in the season. Berkeley’s team met up with the UCSD squad for a high-energy morning that combined endurance, speed, and mental toughness.
Around 60 athletes participated, split across three waves of racing to keep the event moving smoothly and competitive. Each athlete completed a demanding sequence of a 400-yard swim in the pool followed by a 1.5-mile run, before repeating the swim and run once more. The format tested overall fitness and pacing strategy, challenging competitors to maintain focus through multiple transitions.
Throughout the event, teammates lined the pool deck and running paths, cheering on racers and creating an encouraging, high-spirited environment. The swim/run/swim/run once again proved to be a memorable and motivating experience, strengthening camaraderie within and between the teams while setting a strong tone for the rest of the season.
