The largest and most popular of the UCSD weight rooms, RIMAC has a blockable 3700 sq. ft. area predominantly available for open recreation that offers 6 platforms for the Olympic lifts, powerlifting and a huge array of free weights. Also hosting a huge functional training setting this area provides the capability for cross fit training, core and torso specificity and tremendous opportunity to develop explosive jump training as well as body building. In the perimeter is complete duplication of the pit plus additional variation of plate loaded machines as well as a complete circuit of selectoried equipment. For cardio, take your pick from Woodway Treadmills, various cardio bikes, rowers and tons of Precor Ellipticals.
This facility has a very different flair. Not intended for the powerlifter, this facility is equipped with a complete circuit of Technogym selectoried equipment. Multiple crossover cable units, an extensive stretch and core focus region but the biggest focus is with the cardio machines. Spin bikes and upright bikes, ellipticals and treadmills, you’ll find them all.
Designed to fit into the Old CV pool pump room, this gym has aquatics in mind. It’s unique floor plan allows for the Olympic lifts with a platform, core and free weight strength training as well as cable work, a Vasa swim trainer, a TRX unit and pull up bars and an awesome speed bag. Check it out!!
Designed for FitLife classes, trainers with clients and open lifting with an available certified trainer offering “free” advice, this hidden gem offers High Impact Training, TRX classes, Cybex circuit training and even cardio. The adjacent classroom holds FitLife lectures, fitness training seminars and nutritional demonstrations. Yum…
Nestled on the very north end of campus above the track, this brand new athletic training center is all about the elite level training. All new equipment provides the best in Olympic lifting and Powerlift training. Eleiko bumpers and bars, solid flooring platforms and a unique open area (2000 sq. ft.) for functional/jump explosive training. YOU GOT TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT!! Separate orientation required, open recreation is available in the evenings and on weekends.
