 INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIES

In order to ensure our student and rec card holders safety, in the event of inclement weather our pools may experience spontaneous closures or lane reductions.  Please contact the Canyonview Aquatic Center front desk at (858) 534-5375 for the most up to date information.

For information regarding our different inclement weather policies, please see below:

 For Lightning:

Upon sight or sound of lightning/thunder, the pool, jacuzzi, and deck area will be immediately closed and patrons using the pool will be moved inside. Patrons in the weightroom will not experience any change in use.

After clearing these areas, patrons will be allowed to resume use 30 minutes after the last sighting or sound of lightning/thunder.

Patrons should refrain from using the showers until the storm has passed.

For Heavy Rain:

When the bottom of the pool becomes obscured due to heavy rainfall, the pool is shortened to half-capacity.

The pool goes from lanes 1-18 & the Family Swim Lane, to lanes 10-18 & the Family Swim Lane being available to use.

Lifeguards will relocate to the covered structure near the northwest corner of Canyonview Pool and remain there until visibility in the deep end is clear again.

Patrons are asked to stay to the shallower lanes within the field of vision of the guards until deep end visibility is restored. Once the rain has passed and visibility is restored, the pool will resume full capacity.
