Backpacking & Hiking

Pick up your backpack, strap on some hiking boots and explore wilderness.

Caving & Camping

We offer a wide range of caving and hiking adventures from Anza Borrego to Los Pensaquitos Canyon and more!

Challenge Course

Elevate your team's performance and jumping right into the Challenge Course. Strengthen trust, bonds, and teamwork with these activities.

Climbing Center

Take a walk down near Canyonview and put yourself to the test with the Climbing Center. With indoor climbing, build upper strength and mental focus.

Group Adventures

Nothing beats going on an adventure with your friends, family, club members, residents, or just a couple of people you'd like to get to know! We offer many different trips you can take with expert guides, food, transportation, and more on your trip.

Horseback Riding

Giddyup! Learn to horseback ride at an stunning working ranch in the Guadalupe Valley.

Kayaking & Canoeing

Grab a paddle, learn new skills and explore the West’s amazing beaches, bays and rivers. We offer kayaking trips from La Jolla Shores to Mission Bay!

Outdoor Gear Rentals

Come get geared up for your next adventure at the Outback Adventures Rental Shop, the best place on campus for information, registration, and gear for any of our amazing outings, or one of your own!

Rock Climbing

“Learn the ropes” and climb your way up, down, and across any rock. Come with us an adventure to climb Mission Gorge!

Snorkeling

Explore the underwater world with mask, fins and snorkel. Come with us on our seasonal adventures into the deep, blue waters!

Snow

While it never snows in San Diego, don't let that stop you from having a little icy fun! Descend down the mountain snow with your choice of a ski or a snowboard on our trips to the slopes.

Spring Break Trips

It's the end of Winter quarter and you deserve a break, recharge with a Spring Break trip exploring the amazing wilderness of the Southwest!

Surfing

Grab your surfboard and some friends, come on down to shred the waters with us!

Wilderness Medicine

Going on adventure of your own? Prepare for it by taking this lesson with us to tackle the real outdoors and learn about situations that can occur when on your own trips. This is the ideal medical training for outdoor educators, guides, SAR team members, and others who work or play in remote areas.

Wilderness Orientation

New to campus, don't know what to do for fun? The perfect way to start UCSD, get off campus, make new friends, learn new skills and have an adventure. Come explore the wilderness of San Diego with expert guides!

Wine Tasting

Explore the beautiful Valle de Guadalupe and spend the day visiting vineyards and tasting Baja California’s renowned wines. This trip restricted to age 21 or older only. 

Yoga & Meditation

Immerse yourself in the desert while practicing yoga with a certified instructor all in one of the West’s most beautiful national parks. In addition to yoga sessions, you will have the chance to explore this visually stunning desert park, enjoy delicious and healthy meals around the campfire and camp under a blanket of stars like you have never seen.
