Surfing with Rec Classes

UC San Diego is blessed with a perfect location for surfing.  There are beginner surf breaks along with world class waves located a stones-throw from campus.  Our Surf Rec Class program has something for everyone.  Whether it's your first time in the ocean or you've already mastered the basics, with one day or eight weeks to learn, this is the place to do it.

Surf classes take place near Scripps Pier at a sandy beach ideal for learning.  Transportation from campus to the beach is quick & easy, and classes are offered year-round to take advantage of San Diego's mild seasons.  All surf instructors are CPR & First Aid certified, and are trained to teach and manage groups safely on the beach and in the surf zone.
