the TRIATHLON program "FITNESS IS A WAY OF LIFE"  

UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENTS:

*BIKE TO WORK/SWIM WORKOUT - FRIDAY 5/29 (NO TURBO)    FOLLOWED BY A 2.4 MILE POOL SWIM at 7:30!!!  

*  Please note this year we will not be hosting the 2-day tri (aqua/bike) but instead we're doing the IM swim on Friday followed by the San Diego Century on Saturday followed by the Rock n Roll on Sunday.  Three days of fun and exercise!!!

* Terry's 4-4-2 x 2 triathlon (postponed till June 21st at 6:30 - set up at 6:00)!!!
is a 400 yard swim in the pool, a 4 mile bike ride on campus and a 2 mile run to the track from the pool - then repeat all!!  Along for the race will be members of the UCSD Student Tri team and other UCSD Masters triathletes, making it a truly fun fitness event for everyone!

         ON GOING QUARTERLY TRACK  WORKOUT SCHEDULE:  

WORKOUT TIMES:

6:00-7:30am Tue & Thursday with Terry Martin

5:45-7:15pm Tuesday with James Sheremeta 

5:45-7:15pm Thursday with Tom Piszkin

TURBO WORKOUTS: 6:00-7:30am (Tues on the track & Fridays on the patio). 
      

* All run workouts meet on the south end of the track!!


AM RUN Workouts.......


TUESDAY 5/26 - 
Main Set: 1.5m building each 1/2 mile from 15k pace down to 5k by last 1/2 mile; 2x1200m cutting down each lap from 15k to 5k; 2-3 x 600 building by 200 starting at 5k pace w/ 200 jog between.


THURSDAY 5/28 -
Warm up & strides. Then 2 times 5min @ threshold & 5 x 3min pickups. Finish with a 10 min steady tempo. Drills & stretch.

FRIDAY 5/29 - NO TURBO THIS FRIDAY!!!!

TRIATHLON

Triathletes should be able to run, bike and swim with some proficiency. We meet at the track for all the run and bike workouts and the Canyonview pool for swim workouts.  A limited number of turbo trainers are available for the turbo workouts.  If you have your own turbo trainer, please bring it with you so you can learn to train on your own equipment.  Oh, yeh...bring your bike with you! 

(All Friday turbo workouts will be at the Spanos Training Facility - North Patio - just above the track.  Tuesdays will be on the track.) 

Registration for new participants will be at RIMAC or the front desk at the Canyonview Aquatics Center.! Renewals can also be paid at the Canyonview Pool Front Desk.

Community Membership:
Daily- $10.00 Quarterly- $165.00 (includes facility use card)

*If you already have a REC CARD:Program Fee-$105.00

Student Membership:
Daily- $4.00 / Quarterly- $55.00

**Triathletes may attend any swimming, running and turbo workouts!!

National Sports Registration Forms for 2014

All of our athletes must be affiliated with a National organization for liability purposes. Please register online or download the forms and mail 'em in. Carry your form with you (good if you travel).
