Getting fit incentives from your health plan!
Recreation, in collaboration with the UC Living Well initiative and three Health Care providers have partnered to bring an added incentive to staff and faculty.

Working out can be inconvenient, especially if you have to take an extra drive to the gym. One of the great things about working at UCSD is that you can exercise on campus without having to drive to another location. In an effort to support the well-being of faculty and staff, UC has made it possible for those enrolled with Health Net, Pacific Care, or Blue Cross health insurance, to earn $25 to $50 for taking an online health risk assessment (HRA). As an incentive for taking the quiz each carrier has agreed to provide a gift card or gift certificate that is redeemable for UC San Diego Recreation programs and services. This will arrive in the mail 4-6 weeks after the quiz is taken. Health Net and Pacific Care offer $25, and Blue Cross offers $50 gift certificates.
