    CANYONVIEW POOL CLOSURES
    In order to complete repairs in the filter room, both Canyonview pools will be shut down for a period of approximately two weeks. One pool will be open while the other is closed. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during the repair process.

    Canyonview West will be closed:
    Monday, November 30-Sunday, December 13

    Canyonview East will be closed:
    Monday, December 14-Sunday, January 3

    Lap swimming lanes will be limited during the closures. Below is the one pool schedule:

    FitLife and Rec Class Registration for Winter -10
    Winter Fitlife and Rec Class information will be online for viewing Friday, November 27. Student only registration for winter quarter will begin Sunday,November 29 at 8am. Open registration for all Rec Card holders, faculty, staff and community begins on Monday, November 30, 8am. You can register online, in person at RIMAC or by mail. The winter Recreation Magazine will be available at RIMAC, the Main Gym, Canyonview, Outback and other locations on campus.


    Using our facilities - Rec Card information - Rec Card, Day Pass, Fitness Day Pass and Monthly Pass
    UC San Diego undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to use all UC San Diego Recreation facilities by presenting their UC San Diego Student ID card (or UC San Diego Recreation Card during summer only) at the RIMAC Facility Access Desk, The Main Gym Weight Room, The Main Gym Equipment Room Desk (for access to the Main Gym locker rooms) or the Canyonview Aquatic Complex Facilities Access Desk to gain access to the facilities.

    UC San Diego Staff, Faculty, Alumni, University Extension students and the general public must purchase a UC San Diego Recreation Card, Day Pass or Monthly Pass to access the facilities. The Recreation Card, Day Pass or Monthly Pass must be presented at the RIMAC Facility Access Desk, The Main Gym Weight Room, The Main Gym Equipment Room Desk (for access to the Main Gym Locker Rooms), or the Canyonview Aquatic Complex Facilities Access Desk to gain access to the facilities.

    Recreation Class participants without a UC San Diego Recreation Card must show Photo ID and class receipt at the RIMAC Facility Access Desk or Main Gym Equipment Room Desk to gain access for class participation.

    Purchasing a UC San Diego Recreation Card gives staff, faculty, alumni and the community membership privileges. Your Rec Card allows you access to all Recreation facilities during Informal Recreation hours and a lower price on Recreation Classes, Outback Adventures outings and more.

    FITWELL AND WALK UCSD PROGRAM
    FitWell is jointly sponsored by Recreation and EH&S. FitWell is a free program designed to give UCSD employees the tools and incentives to work more effectivelly, reduce injuries, illness and stress, increase stamina and create a healthy and fit lifestyle, on and off the job.

    Walk UCSD is another free fitness program for the entire UCSD community. Check out several walking-friendly (and in most cases, wheelchair-friendly) routes on campus, along with other resources for making the most of a regular walking regimen. Walk UCSD also has Team competitions.

    Mission Bay Aquatic Center
    If it takes place on the water, MBAC likely teaches it!
    The Mission Bay Aquatic Center offers a variety of acquatics classes including sailing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and waterskiing.
    Located nearby in Mission Beach, MBAC is available for use by UCSD, USD and SDSU students, faculty and staff at a discount. Classes are held on weekends and weekday evenings and range from one day to four weeks in length.
